Royal Wedding Afternoon Tea
The Royal Wedding Tea was a huge success and thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. Although the final bills are not yet in, we made over $2,200 before expenses.
Once again a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and talents, and to all those who attended. A very special thank you goes out Paul & Lenore Richards for the incredible decorations and memorabilia, and to Patrich Finch whose amazing wedding video was the very soul of the event. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Many Thanks to Nigel W. Finch-Cole for the wonderful photos!
Our Refugee Family has Arrived!
We are thrilled to announce the long-anticipated arrival of Holy Trinity’s Syrian refugee family, the Ramos. They were welcomed at the airport by members of our Refugee Committee, including Paul Richards, Susan Lazar, and Sheila Johnston, our wardens, Frances Fagan and Simon Johnston, and by Carol DeBoek, the widow of our committee’s former chairman, Peter Johnson. Randa’s cousin, Bahar, and several other family members were also on hand.
The occasion was one of joy, and filled with the endless smiles of our new arrivals to Canada. The Ramos will be staying at a hotel for a week until the suite that we have rented for them is ready to occupy. They will be living in New Westminster, where Randa has a number of family members for support, and where ESL and refugee aid programs are most readily available.
A sincere thank you for the incredible work of our Refugee Committee members and particularly to the parishioners of Holy Trinity whose donations and commitment to this cause made this all possible.
These pictures were taken May 30, 2018 at a joint meeting with our guests and brothers from St. Paul’s, Bellingham.
