2018 ANGLICAN CHURCH WOMEN’S REPORT
We started our year sending “Hot Sox” and clothing received to the Seafarers, and baby clothes and toys to A.C.W Place in Burnaby. The Topic had a very interesting article regarding a bursary set up by A.C.W. to assist future clergy. Our April meeting’s highlight was a visit from the Principal of White Rock Elementary, Zahara Rawji, our guest speaker, and we were joined by Rev. Georgina and two board members. Four of us attended the A.C.W. Annual Meeting at St. Marks, Ocean Park, in May, where our then Bishop Melissa was a guest speaker. We enjoyed a social lunch in June and broke for the summer and three of a us attended W.R.E’s Art Show and Carnival. We had regular meeting sin September and October, followed by the Area meeting at St. Michaels in November. December saw us enjoying a Sunday Brunch to round out the year and were invited to the Christmas concert at W.R.E. – a very enjoyable evening.
We support W.R.E Summer Camp program and Calcutta Cathedral “Penny Pot” financially. Stamps and pop can tabs are still collected and forwarded to A.C.W. Place along with donated clothing. We usually have eight meetings in the library annually, and all ladies are welcome.
