Altar Guild

The members care for the arrangement, set-up, care and cleaning of the things connected with the altar - the chalices and plate, the linens and vestments, as well as looking after the flowers and decorating the church for festivals.

2017 ALTAR GUILD REPORT

The Altar Guild consists of dedicated members who not only prepare the Church for the Sacraments, but also for baptisms, weddings, funerals and festivals throughout the year.  We work on a weekly basis in teams of two people who cover everything from Saturday a.m. of one week, to Friday p.m. of the following week.  We are always looking for new members, both male and female.

On the Saturday before Palm Sunday, we get together in the Library to make palm crosses.  We welcome any member of the congregation who would like to help.  It is a good way to get to know people, especially if you are new to the parish.

At Thanksgiving this year, we asked each member of the congregation if they would bring one or two vegetables for the Food Bank.  This was very well received, and we gathered quite a lot.  It would be nice if we did this again in future.  It provided quite a bit of fresh fruits and vegetables for the Food Bank.

In October, we got together for our Annual Corporate Communion and Pot Luck Luncheon, an event that is enjoyed by all.
